I make bears, dogs, rabbits, hares, even pigs! A little reminder of what used to make us smile ❤️
In 2016 I was delighted to be awarded 'Judges Choice' prize winner in 2 categories for my Bear and Rabbit designs, in the Bear Artistry Awards international competition. Both the vintage style bear and 'wabbit' entered into the competition are now in new homes in America and New Zealand. The rabbit pattern has been developed further and 'DandyMan Rabbit' below is the latest version. The puppies are just there for fun!
I create my own patterns, and use the finest alpaca and mohair fabrics, hand dyed for a vintage look. My creation evoke memories of that special toy, 'lost in the loft' - rediscovered.
I constantly develop new techniques to distress and age the bears giving an antique, vintage look. All bears are loosely jointed with 5 joints, have handmade glass eyes, are steel weighted to feel heavy and 'flumphy' then loosely filled with the finest alpaca fleece from my own alpaca herd.
I source vintage fabrics for trimmings and accessories to complete the romantic creation of a memory. My 'girls', the Lyme Alpacas, graze at my farm, on the cliff tops of the World Heritage Jurassic coastline in Lyme Regis, Devon, England.
Bears and beasts are all individually designed, no two the same, just unique gifts for the collector to treasure.
PLEASE NOTE: My bears and characters are for the ADULT collector, they contain small hardware joints, glass eyes and are dressed in fine, vintage fabrics. THEY ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN.
Every bear comes with a hangtag & a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by me, so you can be sure that you're receiving an original TedandSue, not an imitation.
All bears are delivered wrapped in acid free tissue and beautifully gift boxed. Each collectible arrives with a complimentary copy of my book AlpacaChatter, a full colour, illustrated story book about the Lyme Alpacas and their calamitous adventures.
